Thenkarai Charitable Trust was set up after a free medical camp attracted more than 500 people. Since then,. Improving the health of the poor in Thenkarai and the surrounding villages has been the main goal and function of the Trust. However, it has made inroads into improving the environment, village economy and education. The trust closely works with the local Panchayat to identify and rectify local problems that concern and affect the public.

Free Clinic for the indigent 2 to 4 times a week serving an average of 400 - 500 people a month 2001-2006
Organizing a free Clinic for the indigent through ISHA foundation Mobile Hospital twice a month serving 250 people a month from May 2007
